My Rock Solid Love Story

Posted By on August 20, 2016

I have never been more surprised in my life than the day my husband proposed to me. We had only known each other a couple of months and were falling madly in love, but I still didn’t expect a proposal so soon. We met at work when we were both educational researchers for a science museum in our county, and I think it was love at first sight when I saw him get excited about a new shipment of fossils that arrived in our lab.

I was leading a group of school children through the museum one afternoon when I stopped in front of a case filled with cristobalite. He seemed to appear out of nowhere, got down on one knee and proposed in front of the group of a couple hundred people. Once I got over the shock, I said yes. We have now been married for almost twenty years.

Marketers Save the Day!

Having promotional staff at the ready can be a strong asset when seeking marketing “on the fly” as it were. My own business is a marketing company which prints and distributes items on demand for clients, such as T-shirts, jackets, coffee mugs, drinking tumblers and more. While I had a good steady clientele of regulars, I was seeking to expand my portfolio with more diverse sales and audiences I had not reached yet. What to do? I tapped my staff for a boost, and they were at the ready to jump in and get right to it! They hit the streets and leafletted cars and passersby with informative flyers to help generate more traffic and offer discounts for first time customers. They stopped pedestrians and provided them with background on the type of work we did and how they could order. My staff worked magic and new orders poured in within the week!

The Allure of the Drunk

Posted By on April 2, 2016

Years ago I worked as part of the event staff London for a small horror movie studio. They were traveling the country, putting on shows in small clubs and auctioning off merchandise. The event I worked at was poorly attended and was all in all a pretty pathetic scene.

There was one man there who was drunk. Extremely drunk. He was hollering with great exuberance about the entire event, as everyone else tried to get as far away from him as possible.

Accompanying him was a beautiful woman, looking somewhat mortified. She did not scold him or leave. She stayed with him while he shrieked at the guy who played Leatherface. I watched them and wondered why on earth this woman was with him. His paunch, his mullet, his crusty jean jacket, what could it be?

All I could conclude was that clearly she loved the man underneath the booze and she had long ago decided she’d stick with him no matter what. Sometimes I think about that woman and I can’t help but salute her misguided loyalty. Why is it that the kindest people have the most difficult lives?

Sending Something Special

Posted By on April 1, 2016

I’ve never been a fan of sending out Harrogate flowers whenever I mess up in a relationship. It just seems like an easy out. I mean, it really doesn’t take all that much thought. Whenever you hear of a guy getting in trouble they always send this out, just because they are suppose to. However, I like to take a different path. I just like to send these to my special someone when they least expect it. This way, it just comes to their doorstep or their place of work and it is a complete and total surprise. After all, it is all about surprises and I want to always let them know how much a care and feel for them, and this shouldn’t just be when I’m in trouble, but throughout the entire course of the year. This is why I always try to send something special every now and then.

Cool Me Down

My husband and I recently bought an older home. We were going to renovate it as we lived in it. Unfortunately, the home did not have central Manchester air conditioning. My husband decided that could wait as we worked on other renovation projects such as remodeling the kitchen, installing new floors, and updating the home’s electrical wiring. I was okay with the hot house until I got pregnant. By the fourth month, I was hot. By the sixth month, I was miserable. At that point, I gave my husband an ultimatum: get me air or else! It was installed within a few days, and I spent the rest of my pregnancy calm and cool as I waited for the arrival of my baby.

I honestly could not have suffered through another week as hot and miserable as I was. My husband’s decision to act quickly and get me what I wanted save my marriage.

Is It Time To Follow Your Dreams?

It is sad that many people live their entire life without being able to do all of the things that they want to do. I used to be one of those people. I would get up and go to work every day and hating every minute of it. I knew that I could not live this way for the rest of my life. That is why I decided to follow my passion. I always wanted to be a saxophone player Manchester.

I have quit my job and dedicated all of my time to my music. I practice all day because I am committed to my passion. I have been able to land a few gigs, and I am hoping that I can land many more. I am willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish my goal.

Go Away Pain

Day after day I sat at my desk at work typing on the computer. Looking up information about different subjects. Some of the information I found could be used for the lawyer I worked for. Most days I would become so involved in my research on the computer and my typing that I would forget to get up and move around.
Every day after work I would go home feeling sore, stiff and tired. The hot bath I took every night would help out for a short time, but the stiffness and aches became worse as time went on. Finally I had had enough of the aches and pains and decided to check out about getting a thai massage Manchester. There was a place that I drove past every night after work. Stopping in there was the best thing I could have done for myself.

Girly Weekend

Talk about stress! I have been working lots of overtime, and Jen has had a lot of relationship stress lately. Between the two of us, and my other best friend, Jillian, we all felt like we needed to do something fun and relaxing, so we booked a girly spa weekend.

We got an amazing last minute deal, including a manicure, pedicure, hair up, and a Liverpool thai massage. The massage was unbelievable, and I also really enjoyed getting some nail art for the first time. I now have cute little orange and purple butterflies on my ring fingers.

After our spa treatments, we decided to go out for drinks at the new little lounge by the movie theater. It was so nice to relax, and simply enjoy chatting and being best friends, leaving all our stress behind, if only for a little while.

It was the best weekend I’ve had in a long time!
